Web-Enrichment Activity
Week #10 - WebQuests

A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web. The model was developed by Bernie Dodge at San Diego State University in February, 1995.

Click on the link below and read the information about creating a WebQuest. Then click on the links for sample WebQuests under QuestGarden. In addition, check out the sample products under authoring systems. In the discussion area of this wiki page:

  • Rate the quality of information obtained at the site
  • If time permitted, is a WebQuest a technology you could use in the classroom

Web-Based Lessons and Projects
Across the Curriculum

The table below list sites with collections of web-based lessons and projects. Most of these topics were listed on slide four of the PowerPoint that you downloaded from Week #8. We will take 60 minutes for this task. You are to look through the various web sites to locate something of use in the classroom -- real or imaginary. Consider how you might use the web site or adapt something found at the web site to meet your needs. Be prepared to discuss your findings with the class. You may choose to discuss your topic either verbally, using PPT or Impress, a word processor, or any combination with which you are comfortable.
